This class meets for 1 hour every week. Students are introduced to sets of thematically related Spanish vocabulary words. Learning will be interactive. Students cut, color, paste, and play games. Songs are introduced to help build vocabulary and help improve pronunciation. Reading and writing are introduced as early as possible. The younger grades (2nd and 3rd) will do more matching and recognition while the older students will do more reading and writing. Every time we meet we will go over the previous week's vocabulary words as well as work with sentence structure. The students will be given a homework worksheet every week. / / / /Homework time is 15 minutes a day. For homework your student will be asked to write the vocabulary words 2 times, learn the words, and do one worksheet in their workbooks. Your student will be given a Practice Log that will have to be signed by the parent. This is to acknowledge that they did study their words. This has proven to be a very helpful tool. Report cards will be handed out in January and then again in May. / / / /Workbook, distributed by Mrs. Smith on the first day of class, is $15. Please pay this fee 2 weeks before class begins. / /Withdrawal fee after October 1 is two months' tuition.
