/ /This class is for those students having completed Latin I at PREP. This is a full year?s foreign language study earning students 1 full high school credit. We will finish Henle?s First Year Latin, much to students? glee!  Study will focus on the subjunctive mood, infinitives, irregular verbs, various ablative uses, along with some special type constructions peculiar to Latin. / /

/ /We will continue studying Roman history, geography, mythology, and the finer points of English grammar. The Magic Lens teaches grammar based on a four-level sentence analysis. This is perhaps a bit more logical and meaningful to students than is diagramming. This book is noteworthy in that it contains clear explanations of the concepts and uses sentences from classic literature for analyzing. As students progress in their understanding of grammar, they become acquainted with distinguished authors and their work. We will treat this book as a non-consumable in this class. / /There is one special project this year consisting of a national Latin composition contest in which students compose a short, original fable. Students will again be encouraged to sit for the CLE and NLE exams. / /
