/ /We will study the basic operation skills (+, -, x, /) with integers, fractions, decimals and percents, which make up the core operations for higher mathematics. We will also learn simple equation solving skills. If time allows, we will touch on a few other areas as well. Pre-Algebra covers important math skills that prepare the way for a successful transition to Algebra I as well as beginning high school science courses. / /

/ /Students are to take detailed notes and copy examples worked in class to review at home. Students will use the text as a resource for reference, daily homework assignments, and test review. / /

/ /Tuition is due by the first class meeting each month. A $5 late fee will be incurred for tuition payments received after this time. A drop fee of two month?s tuition will be assessed if a student drops the class after September. The textbook for this class is Glencoe Pre-Algebra (ISBN is 978-0078252006). Textbooks are to be purchased by the student prior to the first day of class. Specific textbook information will be sent upon registration. / /

/ /Class minimum is 5 students. The class meets 1 1/2 hours twice a week, for a total of 3 hours per week. / /
