This pre-calculus course is the culmination of all math courses.  Students learn how algebra and geometry are / /related and applied in the real world.

Topics include:

     Basic statistics, and sequences and series
/ /
     Number systems, graphs, systems of equations
/ /
     Functions, including polynomial functions, / /power functions and rational functions
/ /
     Exponential and logarithmic functions
/ /
     Trigonometric functions with real-world / /applications
/ /
     Analytic trigonometry and appropriate / /applications
/ /
     Analytic geometry in two and three dimensions
/ /
     SAT/ACT preparation throughout the year, skills essential for / /standardized testing.

     Development of logical reasoning and thinking skills
/ /
     Organization and study skills, to be a more independent student

Students who complete / /this class should be well prepared to enter a college level calculus course.  It is imperative that students enrolling / /in PreCal have a working knowledge of Geometry and Algebra 2.  This is a very fast-paced class.

Homework will take approximately 1 hour per day.  This class will earn / /the student 1 high school honors credit in math.  It meets 1 1/2 hours / /twice a week, for a total of 3 hours per week.

 If you wish to pay for the entire year in one payment, it would be discounted / /$50 for a total of $600. If a student drops the class after October, there will / /be a withdrawal fee of three months' tuition. Registration fees are / /non-refundable.
