/ /Middle School Latin Year 2 is the second half of the first year high school course. Students completing this course of study will receive .5 high school foreign language credit.

/ /Middle School Year 2 will continue studying through Henle's text. This year our method will be two-fold. We will spend time together in class once each week for 90 minutes; then, students will complete part of their work online.

/ /Two websites will be utilized. The first is a closed, private wiki where students will work together. Students will rotate being the week's "main" contributor, while their peers furnish supporting text, revisions, additions, and organization to the material.

/ /The second website, called quia (key-ah), will be utilized. This is a teacher-site that facilitates learning by using games and quizzing. This will help students master their Latin vocabulary as well as grammar concepts. It is likely some of their exercises and tests will be completed here.

/ /I am excited to put forward a diverse approach to schooling. I believe this will lend more autonomy and worth to the student's area of study. By contributing in a very direct way to a collaborative project, students take ownership of what they are learning and develop enthusiasm for it.
