Students / /must have successfully completed an Algebra I course before enrolling in this / /class. We will study the branch of mathematics dealing with points, lines, / /planes, and solids, and examine their properties, measurements, and mutual / /relations in space. / /

 Geometric / /proofs and coordinate geometry, both of which promote logic and thinking / /skills, will also be used to learn this material. Much / /of the material in this course will be found on the math portion of the SAT and / /the ACT.

Students / /must supply their own compass, protractor, ruler, and scientific calculator. If / /you prefer a graphing calculator, I would recommend a TI 84 as it works well / /for future math classes, including SAT/ACT testing and college classes. This is / /not required for Geometry, though.

 Students / /will be expected to take detailed notes during classes and to complete daily / /homework assignments using their notes and textbook for reference.

 Please / /note that the yearly tuition of $700 covers both classes per week and may be / /paid in seven installments ($100 plus $30 supply fee to reserve your spot in / /the class and $100 per month Sept – Feb).

 Students should expect / /to spend as much time outside of class on their work as they do attending class / /per week (3 ½ hours). This class will earn the student 1 high school honors credit / /in math.
