/ /This course is not like any I have taught. Its sole purpose is to communicate in Spanish.
/ /It is not a graded course. Again, it is conversational only. In class I will introduce basic words/phrases I believe are necessary to build strong communication. Students will not be learning grammar or getting themed vocabulary lists. Instead this course will concentrate on getting the student comfortable communicating in Spanish. The bulk of the class will be spent talking?yes ?escucha y repite? will be the students? best friend. The talking will be either through the use of a cd, pairing off with classmates or teacher lead. Games, worksheets, and conversation starters will be other methods used to get students speaking the language. Very little time will be spent writing or learning grammar. / /

/ /My hope is that your student will love the language and will not be intimidated by it. I want them to be encouraged to take the Spanish 1 course I teach, but even if they don?t I want them to be well on their way to speaking Spanish. / /

/ /Homework & grading? I will make suggestions on what to practice, but there will be no homework grades in this course. In fact the only grades that will be sent home will be oral proficiency evaluations. Did I mention this course is about communicating in Spanish? / /
