Spanish 1A is the first of a two year approach to obtain credit for high school Spanish 1. It will be followed next year with Spanish 1B. Dividing this high school course into two years will give students a stronger foundation. The course develops listening comprehension and speaking proficiency with basic expressions essential for everyday communication. Students are involved in everyday spoken language from the very first lesson.

/ /Prerequisite: There is no prerequisite for this course except the student must be 7th grade age. This is a high school level course and will be treated as such, so please know much will be expected of your student. Plan on having about 45 minutes to 1 hour of homework five days a week.

/ /Textbooks: Sra. Cooper will send out the ISBN for the textbook and each family is responsible to order the book in time for the first day of class. Expect to spend approximately $20 for the book. In addition to the book, you will need to send Sra. Cooper $15 for a workbook.

/ /NOTE: Plans are to offer Spanish 1A every other year at each campus. IF the minimum number of students is not met for 2008-2009, it will be cancelled by the end of July and not offered again at this campus until 2010-2011.
