Hillaree Hamblin is a fine artist and arts educator living and / /working in Houston, Texas. Her work has been shown in Germany, London and at / /various art spaces around Houston including Lawndale Art Center, Samara Gallery / /and Box 13 Artspace. She took several PREP courses from 2001 to 2007 / /during which time she took several art classes and assisted as a teacher’s aide. In 2013, she received her Bachelors in / /painting from the University of Houston and then in May of 2016 graduated with / /her Masters in Fine Arts from Houston Baptist University. In addition to / /teaching at PREP, Hillaree also teaches art courses within the Lonestar College / /system and at Houston Baptist University.

Students will explore several forms of art media and the seven

/elements of art (line, shape, value, color, space, form, texture). Techniques
/
/in value, foreshortening, line of action, perspective, etc. will all be
/
/explored and applied. Some of the

/materials utilized throughout the year include: colored pencil, charcoal,
/
/pastels, ink, acrylic paint, watercolor & more!

/ By developing strong art techniques, the student will gain
/
/confidence in their own creativity, improve their visual analysis skills, learn
/
/from mistakes, and make better critical judgements.
/
/
/
/ The nonrefundable $70 supply fee will cover a majority of the
/
/art supplies provided in class (brushes, paint etc.) The student is required to
/
/purchase "sketchbook supplies” that will be needed to complete weekly homework
/
/assignments: a sketchbook, drawing pencils, a polymer eraser, a pencil
/
/sharpener, colored pencils and a ruler (the $70 supply fee does not cover
/
/this).

/ Tuition is due on the first class day of each month and can be
/
/made via check or PayPal. Late fee is $10 every week the payment is late.

/ Fees for dropping the class after the beginning of the year are

After October 1: two month fee due
/ /After November 1: three month fee due
/ /After December 1: four month fee due
/ /After January 1: the remainder of the semester will be due
